There is hereby created with the Township of
Pemberton an Economic Development Council, which shall serve as an
advisory council to the Mayor and governing body of the Township of
Pemberton and which shall perform such duties as are assigned to it
under this article.
The Economic Development Council shall consist
of seven members, five of whom shall be residents of the Township
of Pemberton. The members of the Economic Development Council shall
be appointed by the governing body of the Township of Pemberton. One
member shall be appointed for one year, one member for two years,
one member for three years, two members for four years and two members
for five years. At the expiration of each of the above terms, the
new member or members shall be appointed for a term of five years.
Vacancies in the membership of the Economic Development Council, occurring
for whatever cause, shall be promptly filled by appointment in the
method described above, for the unexpired term thereof. Members shall
serve for the respective terms and until their successors are appointed
and qualified.
Each of the members of the Economic Development
Council shall serve without compensation. However, members shall submit
vouchers for any costs incurred by them in the course of performing
their duties, including reimbursement for mileage at the rate established
by the Internal Revenue Service, and such other expenses as the Mayor
and Council deem appropriate.
