[Amended 10-2-2019 by Ord. No. 7-2019]
The Pemberton Township Sewage Division of the
Department of Public Works shall have control of and supervise the
Sewer Department.
All properties having any type of disposal facilities
and abutting on streets where sewer mains are laid shall make connection
with the sewer system unless such connection shall be physically impracticable.
[Amended 10-2-2019 by Ord. No. 7-2019]
All domestic and manufacturing plant connections
and installations shall be in accordance with the Plumbing Code of
the Township of Pemberton and the rules and regulations of the Board of Health concerning
same. The discharge of industrial wastes into said sewer system will
be allowed when specifically permitted by the Sewage Division of the
Department of Public Works. The effluent shall be compatible with
the treatment facilities available and shall be tested for chemicals
or metals that would be injurious to the proper function of the treatment
plant, and where so found, the manufacturer shall install preliminary
treatment equipment before being permitted to connect to the sewer
system.
The rates charged shall be on the basis of sewage
concentrations of 250 parts per million of BOD and 250 parts per million
of suspended solids. These shall be minimum rates. Users contributing
higher concentrations of sewage shall be charged at proportionally
higher rates.
