GENERAL REFERENCES
Vehicles and traffic — See Ch. 160.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
TRAILER or CAMP CAR
Any vehicle used or intended for the use as a conveyance, upon the public streets or highways and duly licensed as such; including self-propelled and non-self-propelled vehicles so designed, constructed and reconstructed or added to by means of accessories in such a manner as to permit the occupancy thereof as a temporary dwelling or sleeping place for one or more persons and having a foundation or on wheels, jacks or skirtings so arranged as to be integral with or portable by said trailer or camp car.
A. 
It shall be unlawful, within the limits of the Borough of Riverdale for any person to park any trailer or camp car on any street, road, avenue or highway, or other public place or tract of land owned by any person, occupied or unoccupied, except as provided in this chapter.
B. 
Emergency or temporary stopping or parking is permitted on any street, road, avenue or highway for not longer than two hours. No trailer or camp car while so parked within the limits of the Borough of Riverdale shall be used by any person as a dwelling house, place of abode or sleeping place.
C. 
It shall be unlawful, within the limits of the Borough of Riverdale, for any person to park or occupy any trailer on the premises of any occupied dwelling or on any lot which is not a part of the premises of any occupied dwelling, except the parking of only one unoccupied trailer in an accessory private garage building, or in any rear yard, is permitted, provided that no living quarters shall be maintained or any business practiced in said trailer while such trailer is so parked or stored.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or corporation to conduct or operate any trailer park or trailer camp within the limits of the Borough of Riverdale.
Trailer parks and trailer camps are hereby prohibited within the limits of the Borough of Riverdale.

Any person who shall violate this chapter or any of its provisions shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000, or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days, or both, in the discretion of the Judge imposing the same. Every day such violation exists shall constitute a separate offense and be punishable as such hereunder.
Persons who enter the Borough of Riverdale in trailers or camp cars for the purpose of visiting friends or members of their family who are residents of the Borough, shall be excepted from the provisions of this chapter, provided that:
A. 
No such exception shall be permitted for a period exceeding 30 days.
B. 
Upon entering the Borough for the purpose aforesaid, such persons shall secure a permit from the Chief of Police, which permit shall specify the date and time of expiration thereof. No permit shall be issued unless it appears that the standards of sanitation and health maintained by the Borough will not be impaired thereby.
No provision of this chapter shall be construed to prevent any person from engaging in the lawful business of selling trailers or camp cars and such person may park same on their property for purposes of display only.
