Acting pursuant to Chapter 79 of the laws of
the State of New Jersey 1992, N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-1 to 40A:12A-49, inclusive,
and the acts amendatory thereto, there is hereby created a public
body corporate to be known as the "Borough of Riverton Redevelopment
Agency." Such agency will constitute a redevelopment agency as contemplated
and provided for in said Act and shall have the power and authority
as provided by said Act and the Acts amendatory thereof and supplemental
thereto.
A.Â
There shall be seven Commissioners of the Borough
of Riverton Redevelopment Agency consisting of the Mayor and the six
members of the Borough Council.
B.Â
Each Commissioner shall hold office for the term of
their respective elective office as either Mayor or Council members
and until his/her successor shall have been elected and qualified.
There is hereby transferred and assigned to
the Borough of Riverton Redevelopment Agency all of the property,
books, papers and records relating to the functions of the Borough
of Riverton Redevelopment Agency, except such books, papers and records
as are now required by law or the ordinances of the Borough of Riverton
to be kept in the office of some other officer or department of municipal
government.
The following 59 tax lots located within the
Borough of Riverton and designated for redevelopment and rehabilitation
by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Riverton by Res. No. 2001-55
adopted on May 10, 2001, are hereby designated as areas in need of
redevelopment and rehabilitation:
