Borough of Rutherford, NJ Article XVII Lane Use Reservations

§ 126-68 Lane reservations designated.

A. The following lane locations are designated "lane use reservations," and all vehicles shall move only as indicated:

(1) East Erie Avenue and Orient Way.

(a) The left lane of the westbound approach of East Erie Avenue shall be for left turns only.

(b) The right lane of the westbound approach of East Erie Avenue shall be for through traffic only.

(c) The left lane of the northbound approach of Orient Way shall be for left turns only.

(d) The right lane of the northbound approach of Orient Way shall be for right turns only.

(2) East Erie Avenue and Hackensack Street.

(a) The left lane of the eastbound approach of East Erie Avenue shall be for left turns only.

(3) Rutherford Avenue, Stuyvesant Avenue and Park Avenue.

(a) The left lane of the westbound approach of Rutherford Avenue shall be reserved for left turns onto Stuyvesant Avenue and Park Avenue.

(b) The right lane of the westbound approach of Rutherford Avenue shall be reserved for right turns only.

(c) The left lane of the eastbound approach of Rutherford Avenue shall be reserved for left turns and through traffic only.

(d) The center lane of the eastbound approach of Rutherford Avenue shall be reserved for through traffic only.

(e) The right lane of the eastbound approach of Rutherford Avenue shall be reserved for right turns only onto Stuyvesant Avenue and Park Avenue.

(f) The left lane of the southbound approach of Park Avenue shall be reserved for left turns only onto Rutherford Avenue and Stuyvesant Avenue.

(4) Union Avenue and Jackson Avenue.

(a) The left lane of the eastbound approach of Union Avenue shall be reserved for left turns only.

(5) West Erie Avenue and Jackson Avenue.

(a) The right lane of the westbound approach of West Erie Avenue shall be reserved for right turns only.

(6) Riverside Avenue and Marginal Road.

(a) The left lane of the southbound approach of Riverside Avenue shall be reserved for left turns only onto the ramp to Route West.

(b) The right lane of the westbound approach of Marginal Road shall be reserved for right turns only onto Riverside Avenue.

(c) The left lane of the westbound approach of Marginal Road shall be reserved for left turns only onto Riverside Avenue.

(7) Park Avenue and Marginal Road.

(a) The left lane of the northbound approach of Park Avenue shall be reserved for left turns only.

(b) The left lane of the southbound approach of Park Avenue shall be reserved for left turns only.

(c) The left lane of the westbound approach of Marginal Road shall be reserved for left turns onto Park Avenue and through traffic.

(d) The right lane of the westbound approach of Marginal Road shall be reserved for right turns onto Park Avenue and through traffic.

(8) Marginal Road and ramp to Route 3 West.

(a) The left lane of the westbound approach of Marginal Road shall be reserved for left turns only onto the ramp to Route 3 West.

(9) Rutherford Avenue and ramp to Route 3 East.

(a) The left lane of the eastbound approach of Rutherford Avenue shall be reserved for left turns only onto the ramp to Route 3 East.

(10) Rutherford Avenue and Ridge Road.

(a) The left lane of the eastbound approach of Rutherford Avenue shall be reserved for left turns only.

(b) The left lane of the westbound approach of Rutherford Avenue shall be reserved for left turns only.

(11) Thomas E. Dunn Memorial Highway and Orient Way.

(a) The right lane of the westbound approach of Thomas E. Dunn Memorial Highway shall be reserved for right turns only.

(12) Highland Cross and Route 17.

(a) The left lane of the westbound approach of Highland Cross shall be reserved for left turns only.

(b) The center lane of the westbound approach of Highland Cross shall be reserved for through traffic only.

(c) The right lane of the westbound approach of Highland Cross shall be reserved for right turns only.

(d) The left lane of the eastbound approach of Highland Cross shall be reserved for left turns only.

(e) The center lane of the eastbound approach of Highland Cross shall be reserved for through traffic only.

(f) The right lane of the eastbound approach of Highland Cross shall be reserved for right turns only.

B. The following lane locations are designated "bus lane use reservations," and all other traffic shall be prohibited.

(1) Northerly side of Station Square between Orient Way and Park Avenue in front of the Rutherford Train Station.

(2) Southerly side of Station Square between Park Avenue and Orient Way, except for vehicles utilizing parking designated by Borough ordinance.
