The Township of Stafford provides for runoff
elections in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:45-18 and
40:45-19 for the position of Mayor and Township Council.
This chapter is adopted in accordance with the
requirements of N.J.S.A. 40:45-21, and the Township Clerk is hereby
directed to provide for the submission of a question providing for
runoff elections at the next general election.
In accordance with the requirements of N.J.S.A.
40:45-21, the question to be submitted to the voters in the next general
election[1] shall state as follows: "Shall runoff elections be held
in Stafford Township as permitted by the Uniform Nonpartisan Elections
Law?"

The Clerk shall provide for an explanatory statement
to appear below the runoff election question to explain the runoff
election system and to explain the result if the runoff election question
is approved by the voters or rejected by the voters.
