Township of Washington, NJ Article IIA Parking of Commercial Vehicles on Residential Streets

§ 117-10.1 Definitions.

For the purposes of this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:

RESIDENTIAL STREET

Any street lying within or abutting or bounding any R-120, R-80, R-40, R-20 or R-10 Zone, as established by Chapter 123 of the Township Code of the Township of Washington.

COMMERCIAL VEHICLE

A. Any vehicle having gross weight in excess of 7,500 pounds.

B. Any vehicle of any size or weight used for hire or livery.

C. Any omnibus or school bus as defined in N.J.S.A. 39:1-1.

§ 117-10.2 Parking prohibited; exceptions.

A. Except as provided herein, no commercial vehicle shall be parked nor permitted to remain standing on any residential street for a period exceeding 15 minutes.

B. The foregoing shall not apply to any camping vehicle, as defined in § 123-2 of the Township Code of the Township of Washington, nor to commercial vehicles making bona fide deliveries of goods and services in residential zones, as defined in § 123-26 of the Township Code of the Township of Washington, nor to commercial vehicles which are or may be disabled, provided that such disablement has been reported to the police authorities, and provided, further, that the vehicle is removed within 24 hours of such report, nor to emergency vehicles providing bona fide services in residential zones.
