Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 5:8-31 and 5:8-58, games
of chance, commonly known as "bingo" and "raffles," may be conducted
in the township on the first day of the week, commonly known and designated
as "Sunday," provided that the applicant for the license to conduct
the game otherwise qualifies under the provisions of the aforementioned
statutes and the rules and regulations of the Legalized Games of Chance
Control Commission and, specifically, provided that the organization
conducting the games is charitable, religious, educational or patriotic,
a fire company or first-aid organization or other type of organization
specifically qualifying under the provisions of the aforementioned
statutes.

A. The Township
Clerk is hereby delegated the authority to approve the granting of
raffle licenses within the Township of Washington. In the event that
the Township Clerk has a conflict of interest or is otherwise unable
to issue said license, then the Township Committee shall retain the
authority.
B. The Township
Clerk shall notify the Township Committee when raffle licenses are
issued, as appropriate, but at least every three months.
