The creation of an Agricultural Advisory Committee is hereby established, whose purpose it shall be to review and establish ways and means to guide the preservation of open agricultural lands and to recommend strategies to retain and enhance farming as an industry.
The Agricultural Advisory Committee shall serve in an advisory capacity specific to the Woolwich Township Planning Board and Township Committee, in conjunction with the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, with the ultimate goal of producing a Master Plan Farmland Preservation Plan Element.
A. 
The Agricultural Advisory Committee shall be comprised of five members, appointed by the Woolwich Township Committee. Members shall consist of:
(1) 
Minimum of three persons residing in Woolwich Township and engaged in farming.
(2) 
Two members who shall be residents of the Township of Woolwich and demonstrate a knowledge and interest in the preservation of open space.
B. 
The terms of the membership shall be for three years and shall be structured on a staggered basis of reappointment. Initially, one member shall be appointed for one year, two members for two years, and two members for three years. Vacancies on the Committee shall be promptly filled by appointment of the Woolwich Township Committee to fill such unexpired terms.
A. 
The officers of the Agricultural Advisory Committee shall consist of a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, annually elected by the full membership of the Committee. The Chair shall preside at meetings and shall decide all points of order and procedure. All powers of the Chairperson shall equally apply to the Vice Chair when the Vice Chair is acting as Chairperson in the latter's absence.
B. 
A quorum needed to conduct business shall be three members.
Agricultural Advisory Committee meetings shall be conducted at least once per month, on a schedule to be determined by the Township. Meetings will be held in the Municipal Building and may be subject to cancellation due to the lack of an agenda or to the lack of a quorum. All meetings shall be open to the public and advertised under the Open Public Meetings Act, except where otherwise provided by law.
