The State of New Jersey 911 Emergency Number Plan, established
by the Office of Emergency Telecommunications Services, and approved
by the 911 Commission, be and hereby is adopted by reference.[2]
Each property in the Township of Buena Vista required to be
numbered shall be numbered in accordance with a map prepared by the
Township Engineer, approved by the Township Committee and further
approved by the United States Postal Service for the purpose of establishing
permanent house numbers to comply with the provisions of the 911 regulations.
A.
Responsibility of the Township Committee. The Township Committee,
through the Township Tax Assessor, shall furnish to the United States
Post Office, as well as the owner or occupant of every house, premises
or property situated upon any highway, street or public place in the
Township of Buena Vista, a written copy of the correct number assigned
to such house, premises or property.
B.
Responsibilities of owner/occupant. Each owner/occupant shall, within
15 days after receiving such 911 number, affix upon his house, in
a conspicuous place, such number which shall be three inches in height,
reflective in nature and mounted on the front of the dwelling so as
to be clearly visible from both sides of the street. If the house
is not clearly visible from the street, then said house number shall
be placed on a post or mailbox at least 24 inches above the ground
level and within 10 feet of the property's driveway opening.
Said number shall be clearly visible in each direction so as to be
easily seen by emergency vehicles at day or night.

The owner or occupant who shall fail to comply with the provisions
of this chapter shall be subject to a fine of not more than $50, and
the jurisdiction as to the enforcement of this chapter shall be in
the Buena Vista Township Municipal Court. The continuation of the
offense shall in each case constitute a new offense.
