The Town voted to increase the number of members
of the Select Board from three to five members, with the term of office
to remain at three years. It shall be provided on the ballot at the
1972 Annual Town Election for the election of one member of the Select
Board for one year, one member for a term of two years and one member
for a term of three years.

The Select Board shall appoint the Board of
Assessors for a term of three years, and remove such Assessors at
any time for cause after a hearing.

Editor's Note: Former § 36-3, Duties
as Board of Health and Board of Assessors, was repealed 5-4-1993 STM,
Art. 6, [which provided for the termination of the Board of Selectmen's
(now Select Board) duties as Board of Assessors] and pursuant to Question
No. 1 of the election held 5-2-1988 [by which the Town voted in the
affirmative to have the Board of Selectmen (now Select Board) appoint
the Board of Health].
