Police employed by the Municipality shall be
ex officio constables of the Commonwealth and shall have all the powers
and prerogatives conferred on police officers by Acts of General Assembly,
including those applicable to cities, boroughs and townships of the
Commonwealth.
The Chief Administrator may appoint school guards
who shall have the duty of controlling and directing traffic and providing
for the public safety at or near schools, and who shall be in uniform
and displaying their badge of authority. When on duty and in uniform,
school guards shall be vested with all of the powers of Police Officers
of the Municipality.
Auxiliary Police may be appointed by the Mayor
as provided by applicable law.
