A. 
The Mayor of the Borough of Punxsutawney shall be paid an annual salary as set forth by the Borough Council from time to time.
B. 
The annual salary of the Mayor, as set forth in Subsection A hereof, shall be in lieu of all costs and fees as may otherwise be collected by and allowed to the Mayor, and all such fees and costs collected in pursuance of the duties of that office shall be paid into the Borough treasury.
The Mayor shall perform all the duties and may exercise all powers vested in him by law or ordinance, but his appointments of special policemen shall in no case be for a longer period than five days, except when an extension thereof shall be approved by the Council.
