Building numbers shall be posted on each building or on a post or other structure in the front yard in numerals not less than three inches in height, which shall be clearly visible from the street on which the building fronts. The owner or person in charge of the property shall be responsible for compliance with this requirement.
All houses and other buildings situated in the incorporated Borough shall be numbered within 60 days after the date of notice, as is hereinafter described.
For the numbering of all streets north and south, Swarthmore Avenue shall be the line of division, and Chester Road shall be the division for all streets extending therefrom, the even numbers to be placed on the south and west sides of the streets and the odd numbers to be placed on the north and east sides of the same.
The numbers shall be by blocks or squares, and the basis for each number shall be 50 feet more or less, as is required.

Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, for each and every violation, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 30 days. Each day's violation of any provision of this chapter shall constitute a separate violation.
