[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of Ridley Park as Ch. 31 of the 1968 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
GENERAL REFERENCES
Dogs and other animals — See Ch. 88.
The following are declared to be a common nuisance in the Borough, abatable and punishable as such.[1]
A. 
Firing guns, etc: for any person to fire any gun, rifle, pistol or cannon or shoot any bow and arrow within the limits of said Borough without permission to do so from the Borough Council, in writing, under such restrictions as it may impose.
B. 
Advertisements: for any person or persons to post, paste or fasten any printed, painted or written sign, show bill, placard, circular or advertisement of any description whatsoever upon any tree, telegraph or electric-light pole or lamppost.
C. 
Bathing: for any person or persons to bathe in any stream or lake.

Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter by permitting, creating, maintaining or being guilty of any of the nuisances herein specified shall, for each and every violation, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 30 days. Each day's violation of any provision of this chapter shall constitute a separate violation.

The Mayor or his authorized assistant shall have the power and it shall be his duty, on complaint of any citizen, to forthwith abate any nuisance as aforesaid if he deems it necessary to do so or if he shall be directed to do so by resolution of the Borough Council, collecting the cost thereof from the person permitting, creating or maintaining such nuisance as ordinary debts are collectible in the name and for the use of said Borough.
