At all locations in the Township of Swatara where official traffic control signals are installed, pedestrians, except where directed otherwise by pedestrian-control signals installed under § 271-54 of this article, shall obey the directions of those traffic control signals, as follows:
A. 
When facing a green signal, a pedestrian may proceed across the roadway within a crosswalk;
B. 
When facing a steady yellow signal, a pedestrian shall not start to cross the roadway;
C. 
When facing a steady red signal, a pedestrian shall not enter the roadway.
A. 
At the following locations, official pedestrian-control signals shall be erected (or are ratified if previously erected):

B. 
Every pedestrian facing a steady or flashing "Don't Walk" signal shall obey the directions of that signal, as follows:
(1) 
When facing a steady "Don't Walk" signal, a pedestrian shall not start to cross the roadway in the direction of the signal, but any pedestrian who has partially completed his crossing on the "Walk" signal should proceed to a sidewalk or safety zone while the "Don't Walk" signal is showing.
(2) 
When facing a flashing "Don't Walk" signal a pedestrian shall not start to cross the roadway in the direction of the indication, but any pedestrian who has partly completed crossing during the "Walk" indication should proceed to a sidewalk or safety zone.
C. 
Any pedestrian who fails to obey the directions of a "Don't Walk" signal, as indicated above, shall be guilty of a summary offense and a violation of this article.
Except when authorized by a police officer or other appropriately attired person authorized to direct, control or regulate traffic, it shall be unlawful for any pedestrian to cross the roadway at any of the following streets, at the intersection with that street indicated:

It shall be unlawful for any pedestrian:
A. 
To cross any roadway in a business district within the Township of Swatara except in a crosswalk;
B. 
To cross or walk along the roadway, in any of the following portions of streets in the Township of Swatara, except in a crosswalk, provided nothing in this section shall permit any pedestrian to cross in a crosswalk at any location where that crossing is prohibited by § 271-54 of this article:

Beginning at the northwest corner of the intersection of Hanshue Street and Carla Avenue; thence along the northern right-of-way line of Hanshue Street in a westerly direction, a distance of 10 feet; thence extending from the northern right-of-way line of Hanshue Street southwardly across Hanshue Street from the edge of pavement to the edge of pavement on the southern right-of-way line of Hanshue Street
Highland Street

Beginning at the northeast corner of the intersection of Hanshue Street and Highland Street; thence along the northern right-of-way line of Highland Street in an easterly direction, a distance of five feet; thence extending from the northern right-of-way line of Highland Street southwardly across Highland Street to the edge of pavement on the southern right-of-way line of Highland Street; thence along the southern right-of-way line of Highland Street in a westerly direction, a distance of 5 feet
Orchard Drive
The western right-of-way line of Reynders Street and the eastern right-of-way line of South Harrisburg Street
Reynders Street
The northwestern corner of the intersection of Reynders Street and Orchard Drive diagonally across Reynders Street to a point on the eastern line of Reynders Street
South Harrisburg Street
The northeastern corner of the intersection of Orchard Drive and South Harrisburg Street and a point 295 feet north of said corner
Spruce Street
The western right-of-way line of Reynders Street and the point 200 feet east of the western right-of-way line of Reynders Street
Any pedestrian who violates any provision of this article shall be guilty of a summary offense, and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $5 and costs.
