The Board of Supervisors of Washington Township, after receiving reports of recommendation by the Washington Township Agricultural Advisory Committee, the Washington Township Planning Commission and the Berks County Planning Commission, and after a public hearing held on Thursday evening, August 8, 1996, at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington Township Municipal Building, Barto Rd., Barto, Pennsylvania, hereby readopts those lands, as set forth on Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and made part hereof,[1] and added to the Washington Township Agricultural Security Area by Resolution Nos. 1989-11, 1991-6, 1992-6 and 1994-3.

The Board of Supervisors of Washington Township, after receiving reports of recommendation by the Washington Township Agricultural Advisory Committee, Washington Township Planning Commission and the Berks County Planning Commission, and after a public hearing held on Thursday evening, August 8, 1996, at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington Township Municipal Building, Barto Rd., Barto, Pennsylvania, on the petition of Daniel A. and Karen L. Stauffer and John G. Lutz to add their lands consisting of 82.85 acres on Sycamore Road and 12.960 acres on Hoffmansville Road, respectively, to the presently existing Agricultural Security Area in Washington Township are hereby added to and become part of the Agricultural Security Area. The identification of the two aforesaid parcels of land are contained at the end of Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and made part hereof.[1]

The lands included in the Washington Township Agricultural Security Area, as readopted and added to by this resolution, shall be afforded all of the protection set forth in the Agricultural Security Area Law, Act 43 of 1981, as amended, 3 P.S. § 901 et seq., so as to encourage the continuity, development and viability of agriculture within such area, including but not limited to limitations on the exercise of the power of eminent domain.
The Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes the filing of a description of the lands to be included in the Washington Township Agricultural Security Area as a result of this resolution in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of Berks County, the Berks County Planning Commission and the Washington Township Planning Commission and to forward a copy thereof to the Secretary of Agriculture.
