No person shall drive any vehicle except a human powered vehicle upon a sidewalk or sidewalk area except upon a permanent or duly authorized temporary driveway. Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon conviction thereof be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 together with costs of prosecution.

The following intersections are hereby established as yield-right-of-way intersections and official yield signs shall be erected (or are hereby ratified if heretofore erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named street upon the first-named street. All vehicles approaching any such intersection upon the first-named street shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle in the intersection or approaching on the second-named street so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time that the driver of such vehicle is moving across or within such intersection:

The following weight limits are hereby established and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive any motor vehicle or other vehicle, trailer or tractor-trailer combination having a gross weight in excess of that herein prescribed, upon any of the following streets or portions thereof where such streets or portions thereof have been posted with notice of such maximum weight:

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle upon any street that is under construction, resurfacing or repair, in disregard of any official sign, barricade or notice that the same is closed to vehicular traffic.
A. 
The officer in charge of the Police Department is hereby authorized to designate as play streets, whenever and for whatever period of time he shall deem advisable, any portion of any street whereon sledding and coasting shall be permitted. Such street shall be set apart for this purpose under the direction of the officer in charge of the Police Department.
B. 
No person shall operate any motor vehicle upon any play street at any time when such street shall be so designated, except in case of emergency, with special permission of the Police Officer in charge, who shall first clear such play street of all persons using such street for the purpose for which it was set aside.[1]

A. 
No person shall operate, or cause to be operated, any skateboard, coaster, sled, minibike, moped, go-kart, snowmobile, motorcycle or any other type of vehicle, whether or not mechanized, on the property of any other person, firm or corporation, in any manner within the corporate limits of West Whiteland Township, that is deemed to be offensive and a nuisance to person or persons having residence in, or legitimate business in the Township. Said operator of any of the above-referenced vehicles must have express authorization of the owner or person in immediate direct charge of said property to operate any such vehicle on the property in question. Burden of proof of said authorization falls upon the operator of any such vehicle. Specific authorization must have been received within a reasonable time prior to the actual usage, not to exceed 30 days. This section shall not apply to the operation of lawn cutting equipment or snow removal equipment.
B. 
No person shall roller-skate or ride a skateboard on any of the following streets and highways within the Township including crossing those streets and highways:

C. 
On those streets or highways within the Township not set forth specifically in Subsection B above, no person shall roller-skate or ride a skateboard for the purpose of crossing any public roadway other than by the most direct route to the opposite curbing, and when crossing at any place other than a crosswalk, he or she shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles and pedestrians upon the roadway. Between adjacent intersections controlled by a traffic signal, no person shall roller-skate or ride a skateboard except in a crosswalk. Persons crossing a street or highway on roller skates or skateboard shall maintain a speed no faster than safety and existing conditions permit. No person shall roller-skate on a sidewalk without exercising due care for the safety of other persons using the sidewalk. No person shall roller-skate or ride a skateboard anywhere in the Township without complying with the terms of this section. As used herein the term "to roller-skate" shall include without limitation transport on or by means of any type of roller skates, street skates or coasters.
D. 
In the event that any person is found to be violating the provisions of Subsection A, B or C hereof, the Chief of Police, or any other peace officer of West Whiteland Township, may remove, or have removed, said vehicle from the person operating same and remove said vehicle to the Township Building, whereupon the operator or owner of said vehicle must pay a storage fee of $25, plus any legitimate removal fees, to obtain the return of said vehicle.

Unless otherwise provided for in this chapter, any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this article shall, for each and every such violation, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than the maximum fine permitted by the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code for that violation, together with the costs of prosecution, or upon default of payment of the fine and costs, or as otherwise required by law, shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the county prison for not more than the period permitted by the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code for such violation, or both.
