The Township Engineer shall have the authority to assign numbers for all new blocks and lots, along with addresses, for new and existing buildings and structures located or to be located in the Township of Toms River.
Except as otherwise provided in the Code of the Township of Toms River, New Jersey, it shall be the duty and responsibility of the owner and/or occupant of every property located or to be located in the Township of Toms River to place the designated street number of each building or structure in a conspicuous place within 60 days from the date of final adoption of this chapter. Said street number shall be of such size and color designated so as to make said street number readily and distinctly discernible from the street. Said numbers may be block style, three to four inches in height, with an overall width of 1 3/4 inches to 2 3/4 inches and a stroke width of 5/8 of an inch and made of reflective material.
Any person, firm or corporation convicted of a violation of the provisions of this chapter shall be fined $50 for the first offense and $100 for subsequent offenses.
This chapter shall be enforced by the Code Enforcement Officer.
