§ 109-33 Specifications for subbase.

Upon the subgrade, as hereinabove specified, there shall be constructed a subbase course conforming to Item 304.05, Subbase Course - Type 4, of the Construction and Materials Standard Specifications by the Office of Engineering, New York State Department of Transportation, as adopted January 2, 1985, or as amended and revised, except as hereinafter specifically changed and as hereinafter amplified. Other well-graded, well-draining granular material, including the existing subgrade, may be acceptable upon approval by the Engineer. The Engineer may require testing and analysis of the material in order to determine its suitability.

§ 109-34 Thickness of subbase course.

The compacted subbase course shall have a finished thickness of not less than six inches. The subbase course shall be satisfactorily compacted to achieve not less than 95% of Standard Proctor Maximum Density.
