GENERAL REFERENCES
Zoning — See Ch. 60.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
GROUND COVER
Any weeds, grass, plants or other growing flora, other than trees, shrubs, growing agricultural crops, cultivated flowers or other ornamental plantings, situate on other than a lawn area.
LAWN AREA
The entire parcel of private property, other than paved areas and cultivated beds for the growing of trees, shrubs, growing agricultural crops, cultivated flowers or other ornamental plantings, exclusive of that portion upon which a building or structure is erected and situate.
LAWN COVER
Any ground cover situate on a lawn area.
A. 
It shall be unlawful and deemed a nuisance for anyone to permit, suffer or cause any ground cover to grow to a height in excess of 10 inches on any private property within the village, exclusive of park property.
B. 
It shall be unlawful and deemed a nuisance for anyone to permit, suffer or cause any lawn cover to grow to a height in excess of four inches on any lawn area on private property within the village, exclusive of park property.
C. 
It shall be unlawful and deemed a nuisance for anyone to permit, suffer or cause to plant, grow and/or maintain bamboo in or upon the ground, whether on such person's property or originating on such person's property and encroaching on any neighboring property. The term "bamboo" shall be defined as any tropical or semi-tropical grass of the genera Bambusa, Dendrocalamus or any other related genera.

The Building Inspector, or such other person as authorized, shall serve notice, in writing, personally or by mail, upon any owner, lessee or occupant of real property within the village to remove any condition proscribed by this chapter, and in the event that such compliance is not had within five days from the date of such notice, such person shall be deemed to have violated this chapter.
Any person committing an offense against any provision of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, and subject to the provisions thereof.
