There shall be in the Town of North Haven an Economic Development Commission,
which shall consist of nine members, each of whom shall be appointed by the
Board of Selectmen, who shall be chosen as follows: The said nine Commissioners
shall be appointed for a term ending January 1, 1979, at which time three
such Commissioners shall be appointed for a term of three years, three shall
be appointed for a term of two years and three shall be appointed for a term
of one year, and, at the expiration of such tenure, appointments shall be
made for a term of three years each.
Any vacancy in the membership of the Commission shall be filled for
the unexpired portion of the term by the Board of Selectmen.
Any member of said Commission may be removed by the Board of Selectmen
for cause and, on request of such member, after public hearing.
The powers, duties and responsibilities of the Commission shall be those
set forth under Chapter 97 of the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut
and amendments thereto.
The Economic Development Commission is hereby designated as the development
agency of the Town of North Haven, through which agency the Town of North
Haven may exercise the powers granted under Chapter 132 of the Connecticut
General Statutes and amendments thereto.
