[Adopted 7-10-1972 (Ch. 87, Art. XVI, of the 1968 Code)]
For the purpose of this article, the terms used herein are defined as follows:
COMMERCIAL VEHICLES
Every type of motor-driven vehicle used for commercial purposes, including but not limited to the carrying of cargo of any matter or type, or used in the conduct of any business whatsoever, and any other vehicle designed or used as a trailer to be hauled by any motor vehicle.
UNLADEN WEIGHT
The weight of a vehicle before it has been loaded and shall include the weight of any equipment or accessories affixed to said vehicle.

No person shall cause, allow, permit or suffer any commercial vehicle to be parked or stored on any street in the Village of Patchogue within or adjacent to any residential district of said Village, as designated from time to time on the official Zoning Map of the Village of Patchogue, at any time, except for the purpose of unloading or loading cargo on or from said vehicle or using said vehicle for the performance of work at premises adjacent to the site where said vehicle is stored or parked and except for pickup trucks and delivery or service vans, which vans do not exceed the unladen weight of 2 1/2 tons. In addition, no persons shall cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle having a gross unladen vehicular weight of 10,000 pounds or more to be parked or stored on any residential premises in the Village of Patchogue at any time except for the purpose of unloading or loading cargo on or from said vehicle or using said vehicle for the performance of work at premises adjacent to the site where said vehicle is stored or parked.

No person shall cause, allow, permit or suffer any commercial vehicle to be parked or stored on the westerly side of Railroad Avenue between its intersection with the southerly side of South Street and the northerly side of Sephton Street between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on any day.

No person shall cause, allow, permit or suffer any commercial vehicle to be parked or stored on any municipal parking field between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on any day, unless a special permit for that commercial vehicle is obtained from the Incorporated Village of Patchogue.
