The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village
of Patchogue may, by local law or resolution, restrict or exclude
trucks, commercial vehicles, tractors, tractor-trailer combinations
and/or tractor-semitrailer combinations from designated streets and
highways or portions thereof pursuant to the authority contained in
§ 1640 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New
York. Such restrictions or exclusions shall not be construed to prevent
the local delivery or pickup of merchandise or other property along
the streets or highways from which such vehicles and combinations
are otherwise restricted or excluded.
