The Municipal Court heretofore established for
the borough, and presided over by the Municipal Judge, is hereby continued.
The name of the Municipal Court shall be the
"Municipal Court of the Borough of Wanaque in the County of Passaic."
The Municipal Court shall have an official seal
which shall bear the impress of the name of the Court.
The Municipal Judge shall be appointed by the
Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council, for a term of three
years from the date of his appointment and until his successor is
appointed and qualified.
The Municipal Judge shall receive such annual
salary as the Council shall, from time to time, fix by ordinance. The salary shall be paid in the same manner as the salaries
of other municipal officers are paid, and shall be in lieu of all
fees, costs and any other allowances whatsoever.
The said Municipal Court and the Municipal Judge
thereof shall have, possess and exercise all the functions, powers,
duties and jurisdiction which are or may be conferred by general law
and the applicable rules of the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
The Municipal Court shall be held in the municipal
building. The Municipal Judge shall sit at such times as the business
of the Court may require, subject to the rules of the New Jersey Supreme
Court applicable to municipal courts.
