A.
Township of Hazlet residents seeking to be married
or joined in civil union by the Mayor or Deputy Mayor of the Township
of Hazlet shall pay to the Township of Hazlet a fee of $150.
B.
Non-Township of Hazlet residents seeking to be married
or joined in civil union by the Mayor or Deputy Mayor of the Township
of Hazlet shall pay to the Township of Hazlet a fee of $300.
There is hereby established by and within the
Township of Hazlet a chapter setting forth policies and procedures
concerning the payment of and/or reimbursement of expenses incurred
by the Mayor or Deputy Mayor in connection with the performance of
wedding and civil union ceremonies.
The Township shall reimburse the Mayor or Deputy
Mayor his or her expenses incurred in connection with the performance
of wedding or civil union ceremonies by paying an honorarium to the
Mayor or Deputy Mayor equaling half of the fee collected by the Township
of Hazlet from a resident or nonresident.
In addition to the fee, the resident or nonresident
shall reimburse for automobile-related expenses where the Mayor or
Deputy Mayor uses his or her own automobile in order to attend the
wedding or civil union ceremony.
The resident or nonresident shall reimburse
the Mayor or Deputy Mayor any other expenses or expenditures based
upon whether the same are reasonable in nature and related to and
necessary for the Mayor's or Deputy Mayor's attendance at the wedding
or civil union ceremony.
