B.
An appropriate and plainly visible sign, stating the
requirements of this chapter, is maintained at or near the place where
vehicles are required to stop. A sign, bearing the word "Stop," with
or without explanatory words, shall be sufficient under this chapter
to require a full stop. The Superintendent of Highways of the Town
of Grand Island is hereby authorized to cause appropriate signs to
be erected and maintained at the various locations above named.
A.
Except in an emergency or when directed to do so by
a police officer, no person, firm or corporation shall park or stand
or cause to be parked any vehicle owned or controlled by said person,
firm or corporation upon any public highway in the Town of Grand Island:
B.
The words "park," "parking" or "parked" shall mean
the stopping of a motor vehicle, commercial vehicle or motorcycle
upon any public highway and leaving such motor vehicle, commercial
vehicle or motorcycle unattended by a person capable of operating
it for a period longer than necessary to load or unload passengers
or freight.
C.
The words "stand," "standing" or "left standing" shall
mean the stopping of a motor vehicle, commercial vehicle or motorcycle
upon any public highway, when such vehicle shall be occupied by persons
capable of operating it, for a period longer than necessary to load
or unload passengers or freight, except when necessary to avoid a
conflict with other traffic, or in compliance with the directions
of a police officer or a traffic control sign, signal or marking.
A.
Except as otherwise provided by this section, all
automobiles, cars or other vehicles shall be restricted and forbidden
to park and/or stand in the manner following:

On the west side of East River Road, south of the
intersection of Ferry Road, for a distance of 477 feet.
(2)
On Ward Park Road (west side), full length of street.
(3)
On Ward Park Court, on the inner circle of the court.
(4)
On Blackmon Road (east side), full length of street.
(5)
On West Park Road (east side), full length of street.
(6)
On Carl Road (south side), full length of street.
(7)
On Town Hall Terrace (north and south sides), full
length of street.
(8)
On Center Terrace (east and west sides), full length
of street, south of Town Hall Terrace.

On the east and west bounds of Baseline Road from
the intersection of Baseline Road for 200 feet north of the north
line of Love Road, and south 200 feet from the south line of Love
Road.
(10)
On the north and south sides of Bedell Road,
Town highway, from house number 1646 to house number 1830, inclusive.
(11)
On Lang Boulevard (both sides), the full length
of the street.
(12)
On the west side of Elmwood Road, south of the
intersection of Elmwood Road and Ferry Road, for a distance of 125
feet and on the south side of Ferry Road, west of the intersection
of Elmwood Road and Ferry Road, for a distance of 100 feet.

Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
on the days when school is in session at the Grand Island High School
facility on Ransom Road.

B.
Ward Park Road, Blackman Road, West Park Road, West
Park Court and Carl Road shall not be subject to the restriction on
parking between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. from November
1 to March 31, inclusive, in each year.

C.
On the east and west sides of East River Road, a county
highway, from No. 1390 to No. 1500 inclusive.

D.
On the north and south sides of Staley Road, a Town
highway, from the intersection of the west side of Grand Island Boulevard
to the east side of the Thruway overpass bridge.

It shall be the duty of the Superintendent of
Highways to place traffic signs in conspicuous places at or near the
curbs of the various locations, in accordance with the provisions
of this chapter, indicating the special regulations applicable to
such locations. Such signs shall be in accordance with and placed
upon standards similar to the standards approved by the New York State
Traffic Commission's Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

Any person failing to obey any sign pursuant
to this chapter shall be deemed guilty of an offense for violating
this chapter and, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a
fine of not more than $150 or by imprisonment for not more than 15
days or by both such fine and imprisonment; for a conviction of a
second violation, both of which were committed within a period of
18 months, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than
$300 or by imprisonment for not more than 45 days or by both such
fine and imprisonment; upon a conviction of a third or subsequent
violation, all of which were committed within a period of 18 months,
such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $450 or by
imprisonment for not more than 90 days or by both such fine and imprisonment.
