[Sec. 2-5 of the Revised General Ordinances]
In accordance with N.J.S.A. 26:3-1, there shall
be a Board of Health in the Borough, which shall consist of five members.
The members of the Board of Health shall be appointed by the Mayor
with the consent of the Council. They shall hold office for a term
of three years, and all vacancies which may occur by death, resignation
or removal shall be filled for the unexpired term only.

The Board of Health shall have the power and
authority consistent with N.J.S.A. 26:3-31. The Board shall employ
necessary personnel and fix their salaries in an amount not to exceed
the Borough ordinances in accordance with N.J.S.A. 26:3-41. The Board
shall have under its jurisdiction the Bureau of Vital Statistics of
the Borough and such employees as Health Officer, Visiting Nurses
and Animal Control Officers.
