[Sec. 2-14 of the Revised General Ordinances]
The organization shall be known as the Wharton
First Aid and Emergency Squad Incorporated.
The purpose of the squad shall be to render
first aid and emergency ambulance service within the confines of the
Borough. Service other than emergency to areas outside the confines
of the Borough will be with the approval of the Commissioner of Public
Safety or the Mayor.
A.
Membership in the Squad will be restricted to 35 qualified
members.
B.
The membership shall elect a President, Vice President,
Secretary and a Treasurer each calendar year, who will be recommended
to the Borough Council for appointments to these offices. These officers
shall be the Board of Trustees of the First Aid and Emergency Squad.
The First Aid and Emergency Squad shall hold regular meetings at least
once a month and shall keep a journal of its proceedings.[1]
The First Aid and Emergency Squad shall establish
and maintain its own rules, regulations and bylaws, provided that
they are consistent with and conform to all the provisions of this
chapter, and which shall prescribe the duties of the various officers
and members.
A.
Provide the emergency vehicles and equipment required
for the proper and adequate protection of life and aid to sick and
injured in the Borough.
B.
Provide facilities for the proper housing and maintenance
of all emergency vehicles and equipment.
C.
Provide a meeting and/or training room for the exclusive
use of all First Aid and Emergency Squad members.
