It is hereby recognized that there has been a Planning Commission in existence and functioning for about 20 years. This chapter hereby ratifies and confirms the existence of said Planning Commission and provides that said Planning Commission has been and shall henceforth be established pursuant to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, 53 P.S. § 10101 et seq.

The Planning Commission shall have such powers and duties as are prescribed by Article II of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, 53 P.S. § 10201 et seq. The Planning Commission shall also carry out such other and additional duties as are determined by the Board of Supervisors.

There shall be no less than five and no more than seven regular members of the Planning Commission appointed by the Board of Supervisors of Halfmoon Township in accordance with Section 203 of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, 53 P.S. § 10203. In addition to regular members, there shall be appointed up to three alternate members. Alternates will attend every meeting and take part in all discussions but will only vote due to a regular member's absence.

All future appointments and reappointments shall be made by the Board of Supervisors by motion duly recorded in the minutes.
All prior appointments and acts of the Planning Commission are ratified and confirmed.
