Pursuant to the provisions of the State Construction Code Act (Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended)[1] the Michigan Mechanical Code, incorporating the 2000 edition of the International Mechanical Code, be and is hereby adopted as the mechanical standards of the City of Rockwood for the mechanical control of buildings and structures as therein provided, and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the said Michigan Mechanical Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this chapter, including any amendments made by the State Legislature to Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972, as of this date or any time hereafter in the future.

The City of Rockwood hereby assumes responsibility for the administration and enforcement of the Michigan Mechanical Code, incorporating the 2000 edition of the International Mechanical Code within its corporate limits and designates its Building Official as the enforcing agency to discharge the responsibilities of the City of Rockwood under Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended.
Whoever violates or fails to comply with the provisions of this chapter shall commit a municipal civil infraction and shall be subject to fine and other remedial remedies set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, of the Code of the City of Rockwood. A separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation or noncompliance occurs or continues, unless otherwise provided.
