A. 
No person shall own or harbor any cat within the Borough of Hampton unless such cat has a valid inoculation against rabies.
B. 
Any person who owns or harbors a cat in the Borough of Hampton shall, upon the request of any authorized agent of said Board of Health, any police officer or any representative of the Hunterdon County Department of Health, submit a current certification for said cat establishing that the cat has been properly vaccinated against rabies.

Any person who owns or harbors a cat in the Borough of Hampton without having had said cat properly vaccinated for rabies shall be subject to a fine of not more than $2,000, imprisonment for a period not exceeding 90 days and/or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days, per day for each day that said person or persons owns or harbors a cat in the Borough of Hampton without having had said cat properly inoculated against rabies. Each cat that is possessed or owned within the Borough of Hampton by said owner or harborer which is not properly inoculated against rabies shall constitute a separate violation under this article.

The Board of Health of the Borough of Hampton shall cause a canvass of cats as needed, at least annually, to determine compliance with this article. All cats must have rabies identification tags displayed.
