A. 
The City of Butler, Pennsylvania, elects to follow the schedule for the retention and disposal of public records as established by the Local Government Records Committee of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, pursuant to 53 P.S. § 9001 et seq., as shall be established and as shall, from time to time, be hereafter amended.
B. 
Each individual act of disposition of public records shall be approved by resolution of the City Council of the City of Butler, Pennsylvania, prior to the destruction or other disposition of any public records.
C. 
Should any municipal official, pursuant to a resolution of the City Council of the City of Butler, Pennsylvania, destroy or otherwise dispose of any public records, said city official shall not be held liable on his official bond or in the way of damages for loss or any other manner, civil or criminal, because of the disposition of public records pursuant to the resolution.
