The purpose of this chapter is to protect and maintain the tennis courts within the City of Butler.
This chapter shall apply to all tennis courts within the City of Butler, unless said tennis courts are expressly exempted.
It shall be unlawful for any person in any park or recreation area owned or controlled by the City of Butler to play or practice street hockey on any tennis court in the City of Butler. Further, it shall be unlawful for any person to roller skate or use skateboards on any tennis court within the City. The City Council of the City of Butler may, from time to time, reserve the right to exempt certain tennis courts from the effect of this chapter, which exemption may be taken by resolution. Should a tennis court be exempted from the provision of this chapter, the tennis court shall be properly posted, designating that the playing and practicing of street hockey and the use of roller skates or skateboards is permitted on the specified tennis court.
A. 
Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this chapter shall be fined not more than three hundred dollars ($300.), plus costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, imprisonment or not more than ninety (90) days for each and every offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.[1]

Nothing in this chapter shall be interpreted as prohibiting institution of other criminal charges as may be appropriate against any person whose conduct violates this chapter.
