City of Glen Cove, NY Article XII Alternative Veterans Exemption

§ 252-37 Increase in maximum exemption.

Pursuant to the authority granted by Chapter 417 of the Laws of 1997, the City of Glen Cove hereby enacts a local law to increase the maximum exemption allowable in accordance with the Real Property Tax Law, § 458-a (2) to:

A. For eligible wartime veterans: $54,000;

B. An additional $36,000 for eligible veterans serving in a combat area;

C. An additional $180,000 for eligible veterans who earned a disability rating.

§ 252-38 When effective; applicability.

This article shall take effect May 1, 2001, and shall apply to assessment rolls prepared on the basis of taxable status dates occurring on or after such effective date.
