No person shall ride a skateboard or roller-skate any where in the city without complying with the terms of this ordinance. As used herein, "to roller-skate" shall mean to skate on any type of roller skates or street skates.
A. 
No person shall ride a skateboard on any street. A person wishing to cross a street shall carry the skateboard.
B. 
No person shall roller-skate on any street, except for the purpose of crossing the street. The rules relating to pedestrians crossing streets shall apply to persons crossing a street on roller skates. No person crossing a street on roller skates shall travel too fast for safety under the conditions existing.
No person shall roller-skate or ride a skateboard in a reckless manner on any public sidewalk. No person shall ride a skateboard or roller-skate on a sidewalk without exercising due care for the safety of other persons using the sidewalk.
Any commercial establishment in the City of North Tonawanda selling or renting skateboards, street skates or roller skates of any kind shall post a copy of this ordinance or a summary of the rules set out in this ordinance in a conspicuous place where persons buying or renting skateboards or skates will see it.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less than $5 nor more than $250 for each offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
If any section, subdivision, paragraph or provision of this ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid, such adjudication shall apply to such portion thereof so expressly adjudged invalid, and the remainder of this ordinance shall remain in all respects valid and effective.
This ordinance shall be effective on the day following publication in the official newspaper.
