All off-road motorized vehicles and horses shall
be prohibited upon the following lands owned or operated by the Township
of Montville or the Board of Education of the Township of Montville:
A.
The Community Center property on Change Bridge
Road: entire tract.
B.
The Montville High School property: entire tract,
except in approved areas designated by the Board of Education. Motorized
bicycles utilized for transportation to and from school activities
may be permitted in accordance with regulations of the Board of Education.
For the purpose of this article, the terms used
herein shall be defined as follows:
PUBLIC PROPERTY
All streets, sidewalks, easements or any other areas dedicated
or commonly used for vehicular or pedestrian traffic or other public
use.
TOWNSHIP-OWNED LANDS
All parks, recreation areas, ballparks, lake areas, storage
facilities, garage areas, Board of Education property and any and
all other Township-owned land and premises.
The operation of motorcycles or unlicensed motor-driven
vehicles, except maintenance vehicles, shall be additionally prohibited
upon private property unless the operator of the motor-driven vehicle
shall have in his possession an expressly written permission to operate
the vehicle on the private property by the owner of the property.
No person shall operate any motorcycle or unlicensed
motor-driven vehicle in a careless, negligent or reckless manner so
as to endanger the safety or property of any person.
Any person, firm or corporation violating provisions of this article shall be subject to such penalties as are provided for in Chapter
1, Article
III, General Penalty.
