There is hereby established the office of Violations
Clerk for the Borough of Seaside Heights.
The Violations Clerk shall be appointed by the
Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Borough Council, and shall
serve for a term of one year, commencing on January 1 of the year
of appointment and ending on December 31 of that year, or until a
successor or successors shall be appointed and qualified.
To be appointed as Violations Clerk for the
Borough of Seaside Heights, an individual must meet the following
requirements. The individual must:
A. Possess a valid New Jersey driver's license only if
the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary
to perform essential duties of the position.
B. Have a knowledge of office methods, practices and
equipment.
C. Have a knowledge of performing tasks involved in the
keeping of records.
D. Possess the ability to organize assigned work.
E. Possess the ability to develop effective work methods.
F. Possess the ability to give assignments and instructions
to individuals and groups.
G. Possess the ability to supervise the maintenance of
essential records and files.
H. Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and
divide decimals.
I. Possess the ability to learn to utilize various types
of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used
by the agency, office or related units.
J. Possess the ability to read, write, speak, understand
and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this
position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered
as an acceptable form of communication.
K. Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical
and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the
required duties or which might endanger the health or safety of himself
or others. Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible
as long as they can perform the essential functions of the job after
reasonable accommodation is made to their known limitations. If the
accommodation cannot be made because it would cause the employer undue
hardship, such persons may not be eligible.
A Violations Clerk shall, under direction, have
charge of and perform the most difficult and responsible work involved
in collecting fees for traffic violations in Municipal Court, and
shall do other related duties as required.
