Township of Montville, NJ Article VI Water Conservation Management

§ 394-44 Water management areas.

The Township shall be divided into two water management areas:

A. North Area shall divide at Horseneck Road and River Road from Changebridge Road to Knoll Road extending into all the lands north.

B. South Area shall include Horseneck Road and River Road from Changebridge Road to Knoll Road extending into all lands south.

§ 394-45 Restrictions on outdoor watering in the North Area.

The North Area shall be permitted to water daily on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday for no longer than 25 minutes per day in each zone or section to be watered.

A. Wednesday: Tuesday 12:00 midnight to Wednesday 12:00 midnight.

B. Friday: Thursday 12:00 midnight to Friday 12:00 midnight.

C. Sunday: Saturday 12:00 midnight to Sunday 12:00 midnight.

§ 394-46 Restrictions on outdoor watering in the South Area.

The South Area shall be permitted to water daily on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for no longer than 25 minutes per day in each zone or section to be watered.

A. Tuesday: Monday 12:00 midnight to Tuesday 12:00 midnight.

B. Thursday: Wednesday 12:00 midnight to Thursday 12:00 midnight.

C. Saturday: Friday 12:00 midnight to Saturday 12:00 midnight.

§ 394-47 Regulations and exceptions applicable to North and South Areas.

A. The water restrictions shall apply to all unattended automatic watering systems above ground or underground.

B. The outdoor watering restrictions shall apply to all outdoor watering of plants, trees, flower beds, shrubs and lawns. It shall not apply to home gardens.

C. The outdoor watering restrictions shall not apply to newly planted lawns and new plantings. Fertilizer and other treatment applications, however, shall be coordinated with permitted watering days.

D. All newly installed automatic watering systems shall employ a rain sensor that controls the automatic watering system.

E. There shall be no unattended automatic watering system watering on Mondays.
