In order to protect the public safety, it is
hereby declared to be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation
to sell, offer for sale or have possession of any knife where the
blade is released by a spring mechanism, including knives known as
"switchblades."
As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
Any individual, partnership, association or corporation.
Whenever used in any clause prescribing or imposing a penalty, the
term "person" as applied to partnerships or associations shall mean
the partners or members thereof, and as applied to corporations, the
officers thereof.
The Chief of Police and police officers are
authorized to seize, remove, confiscate and destroy any knife where
the blade is released by a spring mechanism, including knives known
as "switchblades."

Any person, firm or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this article shall be subject to a fine of not
more than $600, together with judgment of imprisonment for not more
than 90 days if the amount of said fine and costs is not paid to the
District Justice imposing the fine within 10 days after the imposition
thereof.
