A. 
There shall be an Animal Control Officer appointed by the Administrator.
B. 
If necessary there may be an Assistant Animal Control Officer appointed by the Administrator with the approval of the Council.
It shall be the duty of the Animal Control Officer to:
A. 
Enforce the laws of the state and town regarding animal control, and to institute legal proceedings, both civil and criminal, on behalf of the town for violations thereof.
B. 
Arrange for appraisal of damages caused by animals.
C. 
Transport all animals he/she may impound to the animal shelter designated by the Council.

Dispose of all dead animals.
E. 
Perform any other duties or functions as the Council may direct by ordinance.
