No person, except as hereinafter provided, shall discharge any
firearm within the corporate limits of the Village of Monticello.
No person shall discharge any air rifle or BB gun within the
Village of Monticello.
The provisions of ยงย 144-1 shall not apply to any peace officer while engaged in the lawful performance of his duties, nor shall the same apply to any person who is authorized to use force under the provisions and circumstances provided in ยงยงย 35.10 to 35.30, inclusive, of the Penal Law of the State of New York.

The provisions of ยงย 144-1 shall not apply to a licensed indoor firing range in an approved zoning district of the Village that meets structural requirements of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code regarding indoor firing ranges.

An annual license fee and inspection shall be required of indoor
firing ranges within the corporate bounds of the Village of Monticello.
Additionally, an annual inspection shall be made by the Code Enforcement
Officer and/or Enforcement Officer. The fee for said license shall
be set from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees.[1]
