The Department of Paramedic and Emergency Medical Services shall
provide advance and basic life support to sick or injured persons,
including transport to a hospital or emergent care facility.
The Department of Paramedic and Emergency Medical Services shall
be headed by a Director, who shall be responsible to the Township
Manager and majority of the Board of Commissioners for the performance
of the Department. The Director of Paramedic and Emergency Medical
Services shall oversee and is responsible for the provision of emergency
medical services within Haverford Township and including compliance
with the provisions of the commonwealth and collaborative work with
other medical resources.
The duties of the Director of Paramedic and Emergency Medical
Services shall be to:
A. Manage advanced and basic life support, including staffing, mentoring
and training of staff, and evaluate equipment and supplies to effectively
perform the job requirements.
B. Serve on the Bureau of Fire of the volunteer fire companies.
C. Serve as a liaison between the Township Manager and the volunteer
fire companies related to the provision of ambulance service.
D. Administer service contracts with EMS resources.
E. Supervise and coordinate the Township paramedic unit.
F. Develop and oversee a departmental budget.
