It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to promote, maintain, conduct, participate in or assist in the promotion, maintenance or conduct of racing and similar activities in the Village of Caledonia.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
RACING
Includes but is not limited to motor vehicle races, motorcycle races, go-cart races, midget races, pari-mutuel horse races, dog races or other types of racing by vehicles or animals.
SIMILAR ACTIVITIES
Includes but is not limited to thrill shows, demolition derbies, tractor and horse pulls and vehicular stunt shows.

The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the area of the Village known as the "fairgrounds" during the period of the year commonly known as "fair week." In addition to any such activities occurring during fair week, there shall be one additional day per year at which a motorized event shall be permitted, provided that such event occurs at the fairgrounds and further provided that the sponsor or operator of such additional event files an amusement area application pursuant to § 55-4 of the Village Code. Other than as provided herein, the conduct of racing and similar activities at such location at any other time during the year is prohibited

A violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $250 nor more than $2,000.
