The position of Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer is hereby created. The Borough Council retains the right to abolish the position of Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer by ordinance, at any time, by the affirmative vote of a majority of all of the members of Borough Council. While said position exists, the Borough Council shall, from time to time, and whenever there is a vacancy, elect by a vote of the majority of all of the members one person to fill said position.
The position of Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer shall be filled during the Borough Council reorganization meeting in January of each year.
The salary of the Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer shall be fixed by the Borough Council.
Subject to recall at any time by the Borough Council, the powers and duties of the Borough Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer shall include but not be limited to the following:
A. 
This appointed position serves at the discretion of the Borough Council and is responsible for the impartial and consistent interpretation and enforcement of a variety of Borough codes; Chapter 225, Zoning; and Chapter 200, Subdivision and Land Development.
B. 
Issues and maintains records of zoning permits, building permits and zoning occupancy permits; this includes monthly report to Census Bureau.
C. 
Works in conjunction with Building Inspector who is responsible for field inspections under the statewide building codes.
D. 
Conducts field investigations of violations, gathers evidence, issues notices of violation with assistance from the Borough Solicitor and prepares written reports.
E. 
Responds to citizen complaints concerning enforcement of codes, and acts as a mediator in disputes. May have to appear as a witness for the Borough in any legal actions taken to gain compliance.
F. 
Reviews site plans and development plans for compliance with the ordinance.
G. 
Reports on a monthly basis, prior to Borough Council meeting, any permit activity.
H. 
Acts as an advisor to and attends the Planning Commission meetings.
I. 
Has knowledge of Borough ordinances, policies or guides.
Qualifications shall be developed by the Borough Council of Bradford Woods.
