A. Violations generally. Unless another penalty is expressly provided by the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code or except as hereinafter specified, every person convicted of a violation of a provision of this chapter or any supplement thereto shall be liable to a penalty of not more than $100 and costs of prosecution.
B. Any person violating the provisions of Article
V of this chapter pertaining to parking meters shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a summary offense and be sentenced to pay a fine and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of fine and costs, such person shall be subject to imprisonment for not more than five days. The fine shall be in an amount established in a fee resolution by the Marietta Borough Council, not to exceed the limits in § 326-38A. If the person violating the provisions of this chapter pertaining to parking shall, within five days of the violation, pay 50% of the then-current fine, that act will save the violator from prosecution from the payment of the fines and costs prescribed first sentence of this subsection.
C. Any person violating the provisions of this chapter pertaining to parking, other than parking related to parking meter zones, shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a summary offense and be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of fines and costs, such person shall be subject to imprisonment for not more than five days.
