[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the Township

Fame Fire Company No. 3, organized as part of the West Chester
Borough Fire Department, and existing in the Township of West Goshen,
Chester County, Pennsylvania, and Goshen Fire Company Nos. 54 and
154, organized and existing in the Township of East Goshen, are hereby
recognized as the official fire companies for the township, in order
that Fame Fire Company No. 3 and Goshen Fire Company Nos. 54 and 154
and their members may derive the full benefit of governmental immunity
and workers' compensation statutes, rules and regulations.
Fame Fire Company No. 3 and Goshen Fire Company Nos. 54 and
154 are hereby authorized to provide such services to the township
as may be necessary for the protection of property and persons situate
therein, including, by way of example but not of limitation, the following:
A.
Prevention of loss or injury to persons and property from fire, automobile
accidents, medical emergencies, hazardous materials and like dangerous
eventualities;
B.
Removal of water from property after storms, assistance in the removal,
abatement and prevention of damage or injury to persons or property,
whether through natural or man-made causes, and performance of like
public service functions of an emergency or nonemergency nature;
C.
Conducting and participating in such educational or training activities,
either within or outside of Westtown Township, as may be deemed necessary
by the officers of the companies to maintain proficiency in providing
service; and
D.
Responding to calls and providing service to municipalities outside
of Westtown Township.
In addition to participating in the activities authorized in § 11-2 above, or in going to or returning from any authorized activity, the members of Fame Fire Company No. 3 and Goshen Fire Company Nos. 54 and 154 are authorized to do the following when properly approved by an officer of the companies:
A.
Participate in any type of drill, training, education, ceremony,
practice, test or parade.
B.
Engage in fund-raising activities benefiting Fame Fire Company No.
3 or Goshen Fire Company Nos. 54 and 154.
C.
Engage in the performance of any other duty or activity intended
for the proper benefit of Fame Fire Company No. 3 or Goshen Fire Company
Nos. 54 and 154.
