Pursuant to the provisions of the state construction code, in accordance with Section 8b(6) of Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972,[1] as amended, the Building Official of the City of Monroe is hereby designated as the enforcing agency to discharge the responsibility of the City of Monroe under Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended, State of Michigan. The City of Monroe assumes responsibility for the administration and enforcement of said Act throughout the corporate limits of the community adopting this chapter.

Pursuant to the provisions of the state construction code, in accordance with Section 8b(6) of Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended, Appendix G of the current Michigan Building Code shall be enforced by the enforcing agency within the jurisdiction of the City of Monroe.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Study (FIS) entitled "Monroe County, Michigan (All Jurisdictions)" and dated June 19, 2020, and the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) panel numbers of 26115C0234E, 26115C0237E, 26115C0241E, and 26115C0253E, and dated October 2, 2014, and the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) panel numbers of 26115C0242F, 26115C0244F, 26115C261F, 26115C0262F, 26115C0263F, 26115C0264F, 26115CIND1B, and 26115CIND2B and dated June 19, 2020, are adopted by reference for the purposes of administration of the Michigan Construction Code and declared to be a part of Section 1612.3 of the current version of the current Michigan Building Code and to provide the content of the "Flood Hazards" section of Table R301.2(1) of the current version of the Michigan Residential Code.
