A. 
This ordinance is deemed necessary in the interest of public health, safety, and as a proper exercise of police power in regulating the parks, conservation of woodlands and wildlife, and to prohibit the feeding of unconfined wildlife in any public park or on any other property owned or operated by the Township of Elk, and for the protection and general welfare of the people of the Township of Elk, and to prescribe penalties for failure to comply.
B. 
The parks and conservation areas are irreplaceable physical features of the natural environment, possessing outstanding geological, recreational, scenic and protective value. Protection and preservation in a natural state is vital to this and succeeding generations of the Township of Elk. The parks and conservation areas are a dynamic natural resource that helps protect and enhance the lives and property in adjacent areas and waters and promote and provide an important habitat for vegetative and wildlife species.
All parks, conservation areas, Elk Township Recreation Park, Ina B. Hull and Elephant Swamp Nature Trail (which is comprised of the former Conrail railroad bed, Block 54 Lot 36 and Block 41 Lot 29), in the Township of Elk, hereinafter collectively "park" or "parks," shall be operated and maintained under the supervision of the Township Committee and/or its appointed designee(s).
A. 
The Public Safety Director, the Chief of Police and/or the Police Department of the Township of Elk shall see to the enforcement of this Chapter and any other ordinances relating to the parks, and they shall enforce all rules relating to the use of parks.
B. 
Any member of the Township Committee or any authorized personnel shall have the authority to eject from any park area any person or persons acting in violation of this Chapter.
No amusement for gain or for which a charge is made can be conducted in a park without the consent of the Township Committee, and such amusement must be conducted in accordance with any ordinance pertaining thereto.
