All persons, firms or corporations hereinafter establishing or vacating a residence, office or business by moving into the borough or by moving out of the borough shall, prior to establishing or vacating said residence, office or business, make application for a permit, in writing from the Borough Secretary's office of the Borough of Lehighton for such moving or transportation. A permit may be obtained Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and must be obtained at least three days prior to moving date.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation desiring such a permit for the removal or transportation of household goods in the manner above described shall make application to the Borough Secretary's office of the Borough of Lehighton, setting forth his, its or their name and address and also setting forth the names of the owners or reputed owners of the property to be moved, the address and location from which the property is to be removed and the new address or location of the place to which the property is to be moved.

The Borough Secretary's office of the Borough of Lehighton shall, upon application being made as provided in § 143-2 of this chapter, issue a permit for which a charge of $5 will be made (which charge may be amended from time to time by Borough Council by resolution), setting forth the name of the permittee, as well as the name or names of the owners of the goods to be moved, and the address from which the goods are to be moved and the address to which the goods are to be delivered. This permit shall be signed by the Borough Secretary.
Any person or persons violating the provisions of this chapter or furnishing false information to the Borough Secretary's office or using false names or addresses shall, upon conviction thereof before the District Justice for the borough, be sentenced to pay a fine not exceeding $600 or to undergo imprisonment not exceeding 30 days, or both.
